Kids Activities – DIY Geo Board Fun

I can’t believe how quickly this year is flying and that I haven’t had the chance to share with you the cool DIY Geo boards we made last school holidays.

I happened to have some spark cork board tiles which I picked up from Bunnings as I had been inspired to make a cork board wall (still a work in progress!). I had seen cool Geo boards on Pinterest so I went and bought some brightly coloured rubber bands and push pins and with a ruler and pencil that was all we needed to start our activity!

Armed with our cork board tiles ( we doubled ours up so that the pins wouldn’t go through to the other side) we set to work with our ruler and pencil marking out 5 x 5 pins across our board. The pins can be a little tough to push down so this activity is best done with the help of a parent or guardian.

And well once that is done, that is all that is needed!! The geo board is set up for the child to then make shapes! You can use templates from the web or ask your child to do a square, rectangle or triangle. Or just let them design and create their own template.

Our 13 year old niece dropped  by and even she loved having a go of it.

Super easy, educational and fun activity for kids if you are stuck indoors or just want some quiet time in the afternoon.
