Mister. I

I have to say when I opened up the package from Mister.I, I gasped, quite literally, at how beautiful the 2 pieces of clothing were that I was looking at. The prints were utterly divine and the fabric super soft. They took my breath away. I had not seen kids clothing so stunning before.

As such I was in a bit of a fix, as I knew that my photos couldn’t do this beautiful clothing line the justice it deserved. I am still learning with my photography but these clothes needed a master! So I enlisted a photographer friend of mine to take over and weave her magic. I have to say my darling Sina from Petite Etoile certainly did that!

Mister. I is a unisex kids wear label started in Melbourne in January 2014 by Tracey Leung, whilst on maternity leave with her son Issac ( the I in Mister.I) . Producing limited run clothing of 15 items per piece for ages 3 months to 3 years, this is one clothing label where you have to get in quick or you definitely miss out!

A one mama show for now, Tracey decided for 2015, to produce one main collection for AW15 (the “Minimalist” range which consists of mainly black, white & grey) and a smaller collection of complementary prints & designs.

Sourcing fabric from overseas as well as Australia, I have to say Tracey certainly has an eye for fabric, as the material she has chosen for her new collection is seriously gorgeous.

This season, she decided to stick with mainly a monochromatic & minimalist theme, although sourcing a few fabrics outside of this, like the Paradise tee shown in this feature, she has chosen prints that compliment her AW15 collection. With a desire to keep things simple, it allows her limited edition collection to be worn easily with each other or other brands. Mister. I  is all about ” uniquely clothed individuals.”

Finding motivation to design and create her range whilst taking care of her son Issac, Tracey is most inspired at night and fits most of her work into the time when Issac is either napping or sleeping. As she says “I’ll cut during the day, play with him in between and sew at night.” A perfect combination of creativity, work and being a mama!

And if Tracey wasn’t busy designing, cutting and sewing she would be focused on something else equally creative like visual merchandising or styling!

So now to the testing and reviewing of these exquisite clothes! All made from 100% organic cotton interlock, the designs are roomy and are great as they will last your child more than one season.

The drop crotch pants for Hudson to test out were a size 3 and he is on the smaller side of his age, so I should have picked a size 2. However, the cut allows the child to move around easily due to the drop crotch and is wonderfully roomy without swimming on him. The tee was also a size 3, and fit him more closely but again it is a loose fit style tee.

H loved wearing them and had fun indoors and also at the beach playing in them. As a mother, I have to say they are seriously stylish, divine and super soft to touch. I adore that the clothing has a such a limited run which means only a small amount of designs hit the playground. Although in all honesty, I just want to hang them in his room and gaze at them all day!

Huge congratulations Mister.I on a completely stunning AW15 “Minimalist” collection and to Petite Etoile for her utterly divine photography!
